Course Objectives:
The aim of the course is to provide participants with new and advanced skills
in database design, that is complex relationships, designing forms and reports
from scratch and creating calculations and parameters in queries. The course will build on the basics established in the Stage
One Course Outline. Participants will be introduced to skills necessary to
improve the database design and functionality.

Creating Database Relationships “the
complete picture” including Types of Relationships, Enforced Referential
Integrity, Cascade Delete, and Cascade Update

Building
Forms “from Scratch”, including setting and changing the Record Source,
Adding fields from the Field List, adding and removing Form Sections, adding
calculations including IF and DLOOKUP functions. Creating various
types of Combo Boxes, List Boxes and Option Groups. Controlling the
tab order. Adding pictures to your form. Working with many Form
and Control Properties and so more much including adding Macro or Command
buttons

Macros other than via the Command button

Advanced
Queries including Queries across Tables, various calculations in Queries
including Totals, and Parameter Queries

Importing
and Exporting data between Microsoft® Access and Microsoft® Word and
Microsoft® Excel

Reports “from Scratch” including multiple Report Sections, calculations
and Grouping and Sorting

“must” for anyone who wants to “truly” understand how to develop and
manage Access databases

The database created will be emailed to
course participants at the end of the course, as a reference.
Duration: Three or more
people a full 6 hour course. One or two people will need 2 or 3 two hour
sessions.
Upon completion of Stage One
and Stage Two, the participant should consider sitting the Microsoft Office
Specialist Access Core Exam. |
