Course Objectives:
The aim of this course is to provide participants with new and advanced skills
in database design. The course will build on the basics established in the Stage
One and Stage Two Course Outlines. Participants will be introduced to skills
necessary to improve the database design and functionality with an icon to start
the database from the desktop, and customised toolbars, menus and security
leading the user through the database.

properties, find list box and macro buttons

Queries including Cross tab queries, calculations and action queries
including make-table query, delete query, append query and update query

Creating Advanced
Reports including development of MainReport/SubReport Reports

Creating Interface
forms including option groups, command buttons, control tips and shortcut
keys

Creating macros that
include conditions

Creating an autoexec
macro and setting startup options

Creating Customised
Database icon on Windows Desktop

Creating Custom Toolbars to assist and restrict database users, also
introducing the course participant to Visual Basic code

Creating Custom
Menus to assist and restrict database users, also introducing the course
participant to Visual Basic code

Creating Security
through reassignment of Keys including F11 and Ctrl F6 and creating custom
Database Window key combination

Compacting and
Repairing a Database
- The database created will be emailed to
course participants at the end of the course, as a reference.
Duration: Three or more
people a full 6 hour course. One or two people will need 2 or 3 two hour
sessions.
Upon completion of Stage One,
Stage Two
and Stage Three, the participant should consider sitting the Microsoft Office
Specialist Access Core Exam. |
