Skill Assessment Program

Providing you with Solutions using Software since 1994.
By itself a computer is nothing more than an expensive bookend. It's the software that makes them useful.

Assessments

Other

The purpose of this Skill Assessment program is:

  • Assess individual current knowledge and indicate what training is required
  • Assess prospective employee knowledge as part of the recruitment process
  • Assess Return on Investment (ROI) once an individual has completed training

For example select an assessment (for example Excel 2002), by clicking from the list on the left.

The Skill assessment will then require you to answer 55 questions, allow about 1 hour for each skill assessment.  When you have completed all the questions and clicked the Submit button you will be able to print a Skill Assessment Report, indicating how many questions you got right (showing you the correct answers), indicating what training you should consider, and whether you are prepared (if required) to sit the Microsoft Office Specialist exam in that application.  This program will help you (and if necessary your manager) decide what training is best for you.

"Be honest" with your assessment, to ensure you receive the correct training path!  Sit the assessment as many times as you like, this is a free service to Software Solutions clients.  This is an open book assessment, you are able to open the application at the same time as the assessment, to FIND the correct answers to questions while doing the assessment.

To request the Skill Assessment Report from an earlier Skill Assessment you have done click one of the options below:

Notes:

  • There are 55 questions in each assessment, allow one hour per assessment
  • Do not forget your password it must be 10 letters no spaces or numbers are allowed
  • References to menu commands use the symbol > for example clicking File in the menu and then Open is written File>Open
  • Some questions may require you to open the application and check, you can do this during a Microsoft Office Specialist exam so we have allowed you to do this in the assessment.  But in the exam time is not on your side, and to be "honest" with yourself you should only have to check 1 or 2 questions.
  • Many questions require "recall" that is what menu option do you go to to perform a task, quick "recall" of where items are stored in the menu, is essential to passing the certification.  You do not have a lot of time to look around, it is therefore important that you know what menu options are stored in.  A piece of advice, if you intend to sit the Microsoft Office Specialist exams, learn every option in the menu!
